Apparently people don't learn

By: DaijoubuKun Date: March 04, 2010, 07:29:52 PM
I want to say I'm sorry for the HIGH amount of spam that has hit this forum in the last few days. I don't take spam lightly. If you spam I will ban your entire IP range! I simply won't tolerate it. I have changed the rules of obtaining membership. Now I must approve you. If I receive any posts that resemble spam I will report it to your ISP or the proper authorities. As stated before, I will not tolerate spam.

Lastly, from this day onward, I will be publishing a list of spammers on this site. So once you get banned you can ask a friend to see why.

SSHT v1.3.1 is out

By: DaijoubuKun Date: February 10, 2010, 07:37:06 PM
Several bug fixes, nothing else. The file is up on sourceforge.net. At the time of this writing I was unable to download (as a test obviously) the archive. If you want to download and sourceforge isn't working please let me know. Thanks, enjoy.

SSHT v1.3 Released Today!

By: DaijoubuKun Date: November 20, 2009, 10:30:52 PM
I did it! I fixed the user problem... well assuming all Linux distros use the /etc/passwd file the same. Don't worry. I'm not stealing passwords. Those are in /etc/shadow. I simply check the passwd file to see where your home directory is and go from there. I also stream lined the code a bit. Nothing big. I hope to make some cool adjustments in the near future. We shall see what happens.

SSHT v1.2.3 is out!

By: DaijoubuKun Date: October 15, 2009, 06:57:32 PM
Goto https://sourceforge.net/projects/ssht to download.

Note: This version fixes one bug and it can not be run as root. I'm kinda pissed off at SourceForge right now so I'm not going to go into depth on why or how I changed the program. If you need to run to run ssht as root please get version 1.2.2. If the version you download give you an error please let me know. I may start hosting the files myself. Thank you.

Still working on it

By: DaijoubuKun Date: May 28, 2009, 09:17:43 PM
I'm still working on the new project... actually, I haven't written a line of code in like 2 months.  I got a few new books that I just can't seem to put down, and with starting school it's going to be hard to get anything done.

Also, I have found some problems with SSHT, I don't know if it's just my computer acting funny or what, but now I have a ton of duplicate ssht.conf files all over my hd and I had to change that file in my user's directory to owned by root to keep it from being overwritten.  Therefore, starting very soon (because it's an annoyance to me) I'm going to rewrite it so that every users .list and .conf files are started in /etc/ssht/  The directory will have to be created as globally writable, but each user will get their own file that only they can read and write to.  This way only you (assuming your using a box that has multiple users) can read and write those files (except for root of course).  There will also (once again, to help keep files from being changed by mistake) I will write in a bit of code to change your files from being changed by mistake and will only be changed when a change must be made (maybe even have a password be required... maybe).  I know this sounds complicated and I'm half asleep while writing this so I hope it makes sense.  I'm off to bed now, check back later for what I hope will be SSHT 2.0!

New Project under way

By: DaijoubuKun Date: January 08, 2009, 09:42:24 PM
I have started a new project.  It's a web based application to keep track of your contacts (both personal and business) and well as anything you might loan to your friends (like a DVD).  It's going to take some time to write it because I'm trying to design it to function (somewhat) like this forum software.  Meaning you can use custom themes or even just edit the css for your own look.

There for, if you have an interest in this software and would like to help develop it, please post in this thread expressing your interest and skills.  I need people who can work with the following languages and or software:
PHP 5
MySQL 5
CSS
HTML
Javascript
Apache
Apache with SSL (the software MUST be able to work with and without SSL)

That's all I can think of right now.  One thing I have not planned very well for are picture uploads (pics must be renamed to something random so nothing gets overwritten), and storing CSS in MySQL so each user can custom it without having to run their own version...

That being said, I plan on purchasing a domain name for this where everyone in the world can use it for free or even download the source and run it on their own web server.

I'm starting to ramble so I'm hitting post.  ^_^

SSHT v1.2 Released!... Make that Version 1.2.1!

By: DaijoubuKun Date: December 21, 2008, 05:13:03 PM
I have finished coding and much testing for SSHT v1.2.  I hope you all like it, and hopefully I didn't miss anything.  If you have any problems please let me know.

-DaijoubuKun

EDIT:  I made a booboo, I have fixed the error and now you can download v1.2.1  ^_^

Please read before posting

I will NOT tolerate spam!  I have just banned a large list of IPs because of it.

I made a little error in my forum permissions and any user could post in the admin section.  Unfortunately my rss feed doesn't pull from that area so the spam went unnoticed for quite some time.

Let me reiterate! NO SPAM! I will delete your user, ban your IP and add you to me list of bad people.  That's all I have to say for now.

OOPS! NO MAIL! (RESOLVED!)

By: DaijoubuKun Date: October 27, 2008, 05:51:12 PM
Heh, well I made a boo-boo.  You see quite some time ago I reinstalled my mail server, well then lets just say I forgot to setup mail forwarding.  Now I can't send e-mails out from this forum!  As soon as I can find my manual (It's in a box somewhere, I hate moving) I will have it fixed.  I'm sure it will be fixed before anyone even signs up here, but I hope I'm wrong! Come on people! I want developers! Unless you don't want to be part of something awesome, then that's cool.

Call for Developers for new project

By: DaijoubuKun Date: September 10, 2008, 07:55:53 PM
I'm looking for some people to join and help out with a HUGE project I'm taking up.  You don't need to be all that good, this will help you learn. I need people with experience in one or more of the following languages:
PHP
MySQL
Javascript
CSS
HTML
Picture manipulation/creation skills
and possibly Ajax

For testing purposes I ask that you have a server with PHP and MySQL running where you can do your own testing, if you do not have one available I can help you with that.  ALL live testing will NOT be performed on my server, but on an old laptop where I can (and will) provide you with SSH/SFTP access if necessary.

I also ask that you (preferably) have Linux experience or for that matter know how to use SSH/SFTP.

That's all I can think of for now.  If you are interested or have any questions please post a reply here. Thank you.

SSHT v1.1 is better than v1.0

By: DaijoubuKun Date: June 25, 2008, 05:26:52 PM
OK, I fixed the bugs and the many spelling errors that were in version 1.0 and have released v1.1! YAY! It's already up on SourceForge.net.  The nice part here is I didn't make any major changes that will affect those already using v1.0.  Just run the installer (read the INSTALL file first) and you should be good to go.

SSHT v1.0 is out

By: DaijoubuKun Date: June 12, 2008, 06:06:32 PM
Check out our SourceForge page to get it! http://sourceforge.net/projects/ssht

Altho right after I uploaded it I found a small issue with the script. This error will NOT keep the program from working, I will fix it in a few days and upload it to SourceForge.  A BIG "YOU ROCK" goes out to SourceForge for hosting this project!

New Project - SSHT (Secure SHell Tracker)

By: DaijoubuKun Date: June 06, 2008, 08:22:00 PM
The site may still be under some development, but I couldn't help myself.  I'm working on a program that will help keep track of your SSH connection.  If your like me, you have many places that you ssh to.  I have many just on my internal network; most of these use different ports so I can connect easily if I'm out and about.

I based my program (it's currently just a bash script) on BPWS, actually if you look at the code it's almost identical, except for the fact that I wrote it from scratch.  I'm running into a few problems that I hope to have solved, and when I finished version 0.1 I came up with 3 new features I want this to have. I'll work on it more and do a good through beta testing before version 1.0 is released.

Just for future reference, I do plan on (after releasing version 1.0) creating, first a ncurses frontend. Then once I get a bit better, a GTK full GUI frontend.  Give me time on those because I don't have ANY idea on how to create anything GTK and ncurses seems to be very close to c or c++, and I haven't written in either for many many years (almost 11 years).

Well we are almost fully up and good to go, just a few more things to work on... like the main site.  Check back soon!
